We have postponed the Defribrillator and CPR Training sessions as we explore the possibility of a defibrillator being installed for public use locally. We hope very much to have news of new dates very soon. Do keep in touch and nudge us about it if you are interested and would like to be involved in this when we make the new dates. Rob

Only 8 days (and 8 sleeps) until this years Annual Abbotswood and local area Clean Up day
Last year about 50 people, of all ages, took part and the weather was brilliant.
AAG does things across the whole local area (much more than just Abbotswood) and takes in an area of Yate from Witcombe to the West, Shire Way to the East and Badgeworth to the South as well as Abbotswood, Chargrove and Hardwicke.
As numbers and equipment allow people are encouraged to Litter Pick where you would like too in the area, while also having the opportunity to do painting and planting near the shops and St. Nix Church.
Maybe you could come with your street or nearest park in mind?
We really hope too meet you there.
Do please pass the invitation on too your friends, neighbours and family. Everyone is very welcome.

Fed up thinking about snow? Delighted that we had some? Bruised from sledging? Worried about neighbours who struggled in it? Perhaps it made life really difficult for you in some ways?
Its often in moments like these last few days that we are reminded that there are people living around us who care about us and about where we live.
Or it might be that you spotted a need in the local area that you weren't previously aware of?
If there is something YOU would like to share, whether an idea of how the local community can work together, a need that you think it would be good for other people to be aware of or perhaps you would like to connect with other people who are regularly taking action to help the Abbotswood and area of Yate be a good place to live and work then feel free to leave a comment people or contact AAG.
Heres hoping you are warm and well

Thanks to all the different people, groups and organisations who took part in Your Community Cares yesterday evening and the Community Engagement Forum which followed.
DHI, S. Glos Council, Next Link, Neighbourhood Watch, Jacobs Well, Dodington Parish Council, Chipping Sodbury Town Council, our local Police beat teams and St. Nix Church.
We felt it was a really positive evening but most especially hope it was helpful for people who live locally and love where they live.
If you were not able to attend but would like further information about any of the topics covered in Your Community Cares then please do let us know as we have lots of info in the AAG Office, alternatively do contact the relevant organisation and let them help if there is something you need.
Attached photo is of the AAG desk 'the morning after the night before' - as with any good do, a bit of tidying up (thats not a moan it was worth it).
Lots of info - do drop in if you would like some.
If your quick, there may be some biscuits left
